  • A96 Hardmuir to Fochabers

    In Preparation

    Part of the Scottish Government’s commitment to dualling the A96 between Inverness and Aberdeen, this project involves a new 46km dual carriageway between Hardmuir (east of Auldearn) and the east of Fochabers (the western section of the A96 Dualling Programme).

  • A9/A96 Inshes to Smithton

    In Preparation

    In 2014, Transport Scotland held public exhibitions to present the results of the A9/A96 Connections Study with Options C and D identified as the best performing options.  Since then Transport Scotland has appointed Jacobs to take forward the next stage of assessment work, which is the route options assessment process, on the A9/A96 road connection between Inshes and Smithton.

  • A9 Killiecrankie to Glen Garry

    Having now identified the preferred routes for both these schemes, they are to be taken forward as one combined scheme for the next phase of the design work stretching over 22 km from Killiecrankie to Glen Garry.

    Details of how the design work was progressed up to the identification of preferred routes for both schemes can be found below in the sections dedicated to each scheme.

  • A75 Mossyard

    Status: Due to commence mid-January

    The improvement is necessary to provide a safer access as a direct consequence of the extension to the caravan park.

  • M8 Kingston Bridge South Approached – Cope and Parapet Refurbishment Works

    Why is it needed?

    The bridge works are to replace the existing copes and parapets with new copes and parapets that will be designed to current Standards. This is part of an on-going programme of cope and parapet refurbishment works on Kingston Bridge and the bridge approaches.

    A9 Crubenmore to Kincraig is one of the 11 schemes that form the Scottish Government’s £3 billion A9 Dualling between Perth and Inverness. The 18.4km scheme is currently being designed by CH2MHill/Fairhurst Joint Venture on behalf of Transport Scotland with the intention of developing route options and progressing the scheme through the statutory process.

  • A9 Dalraddy to Slochd

    A9 Dalraddy to Slochd is one of the 11 schemes that form the Scottish Government’s £3 billion A9 Dualling between Perth and Inverness. The 24.1km scheme is being designed by Atkins/Mouchel Joint Venture on behalf of Transport Scotland with the intention of developing route options and progressing the scheme through the statutory process. 

  • A9 Dalwhinnie to Crubenmore

    A9 Dalwhinnie to Crubenmore is one of the 11 schemes that form the Scottish Government’s £3 billion A9 Dualling between Perth and Inverness. The 7.7km scheme is currently being designed by CH2MHill/Fairhurst Joint Venture on behalf of Transport Scotland with the intention of developing route options and progressing the scheme through the statutory process.

  • A9 Glen Garry to Dalwhinnie

    A9 Glen Garry to Dalwhinnie is one of the 12 schemes that form the Scottish Government’s £3 billion A9 Dualling between Perth and Inverness. The 12.2km scheme is currently being designed by CH2MHill/Fairhurst Joint Venture on behalf of Transport Scotland with the intention of developing route options and progressing the scheme through the statutory process.

  • A9 Pitlochry to Killiecrankie

    In Preparation

    A9 Pitlochry to Killiecrankie is one of the 11 schemes that form the Scottish Government’s £3 billion A9 Dualling between Perth and Inverness. The 5.7km scheme is currently being designed by Jacobs Engineering on behalf of Transport Scotland with the intention of developing route options and progressing the scheme through the statutory process.
