Tell us about yourself

I’m currently in 4th year studying MEng Civil Engineering at Heriot-Watt University.

 

How was your application experience?

The application process went smoothly and the panel interview was a great chance to interact with people from the organisation.

 

What Directorate were you based in during your Transport Scotland placement?

My placement was in the Major Projects Design Team which works on road improvement projects throughout Scotland.

 

Highlight of your placement?

I really valued the opportunity to network with people in a wide variety of roles. The graduate network organised a lot of great events and I got to go on interesting site visits including the Queen Street Station redevelopment.

 

How has your placement experience helped with your studies?

Attending project meetings let me see how professional engineers work and has given me useful ideas that have helped with my group design projects at university.

 

What advice do you have for students considering applying?

I had a really positive experience on my placement and would encourage anyone who is interested to apply.
