Transport Scotland is the national transport agency for Scotland and is accountable to Parliament and the public through Scottish Ministers, with a budget of around £2 billion per year. Transport is a vital feature of the Scottish Government's focus on increasing sustainable economic growth, and transport investments and policies have major impacts on the economy, people, and the environment.
This post is part of a team of experienced Rail Professionals responsible for delivering considered technical advice across Transport Scotland’s Rail Project Portfolio and franchised services, it will assist in the development of proposed rail timetable, rolling stock, and infrastructure enhancements.
A technical specialist train planner / modeller, the post will bolster Transport Scotland’s knowledge, experience and skill base to enhance competence levels to deal with all matters technical including timetable development, modelling, and engineering specification/verification. This will allow swifter, more cost effective, and targeted assessment of enhancement and other plans, reducing the need for high cost early stage consultancy development work, contributing towards the Scottish Government’s Strategic Objectives of Wealthier and Fairer, Healthier, and Greener.
£36,328 – £43,923 (pro rata for part time).
