People across Scotland continue to come together every Thursday to applaud key workers, carers and the NHS. From Glasgow’s Central Station to our island communities, Scotland’s transport sector has been proud to take part. Recently we used Scotland’s trunk roads to say thank you. On the evening of 16 April, Traffic Scotland lit up their network of variable message signs (VMS) to illuminate the message.

Scotland’s transport sector has been proud to take part and express our thanks. In recent weeks we’ve seen spectacular sights as iconic landmarks of Scottish transport have been lit up blue including Glenfinnan Viaduct, Glasgow Queen Street and Central stations.

Only travel if your journey is essential

During this time you should protect yourself and others. It is vital we support the NHS and prevent the spread of coronavirus by staying at home and only travelling when essential.
