A90 Forth Road Bridge to Admiralty
All traffic has now been diverted onto a revised route through the works between the Forth Road Bridge and the Ferrytoll area. This new route runs between the existing A90 adjacent to the temporary slip for Inverkeithing/North Queensferry/Port of Rosyth and the new mainline carriageways which then pass over Ferrytoll Junction.
The southbound lay-by at Welldean is no longer accessible from the mainline A90. From spring 2017 (date to be confirmed) the lay-by will close completely.
These arrangements will remain in place until the opening of the Queensferry Crossing although there may be other minor changes of route for mainline traffic in the nearby area, any changes will be advised at the appropriate time.
The southbound slip road (entry) from Admiralty Junction to the A90 will be closed over two consecutive weekends for resurfacing works. The slip road will close between:
- 8pm on Friday 31 March 2017 and 6am Monday 03 April 2017
- 8pm on Friday 07 April 2017 and 6am Monday 10 April 2017.
During the above closures the A90 will also be reduced to 1 lane southbound over Admiralty Junction for mainline surfacing at the tie-in to the existing carriageway. Congestion at peak times over the weekends is expected to be significant. Drivers are therefore strongly advised to consider alternative travel plans where they can.
Anyone heading for the Airport should allow additional time for their journey.
A diversion for traffic from Admiralty Junction will be in place via the A985 and Castle Road, Rosyth to Ferrytoll Junction. Depending on their starting point and ultimate destination drivers from further afield may wish to consider alternative routes.
