A90 Main Carriageway

Week commencing 11/11/2017:  Weekend lane closures will be in place from Friday 10 November 8pm to Monday 12 November 6am then overnight lane closures when required. 1+1 Contraflow will be in place when required between Monday 12 November and Friday 16 November between 8pm and 6am.

Week commencing 18/11/2017:   Weekend lane closures will be in place from Friday 17 November 8pm to Monday 20 November 6am then overnight lane closures when required. 1+1 Contraflow will be in place when required between Monday 20 November and Friday 24 November between 8pm and 6am.

Contraflow will be in operation on the A90 from 6am on Wednesday 22 March, to safely facilitate AWPR works. The contraflow will consist of two lanes of traffic heading northbound and one lane southbound during the daytime and 1 lane of traffic heading northbound and 1 lane of traffic heading southbound overnight. This is expected to add between 10 and 20 minutes to journeys during morning and evening peak travelling periods for road users heading south.

A90 to B979 Northbound Diverge Slip Road

Week commencing 11/11/2017: A Contraflow will be in operation on A90 from 6am on Wednesday 22 March.

Week commencing 11/11/2017: A Contraflow will be in operation on A90 from 6am on Wednesday 22 March.

B979 to A90 Southbound Merge Slip Road

A new southbound merge slip road from the B979 at Stonehaven is in operation in a temporary configuration. This is expected to be in place until completion of the project.

B979 (South of junction with A90 northbound slip roads)

Week commencing 11/11/2017: 3 way temporary traffic signals will be in operation between 7am and 7pm from Friday 14 April 2017 for a period of approximately 8 months. The lights will be manually controlled at peak times between 7am and 9:30am and between 3:30pm and 6pm daily.

Week commencing 18/11/2017: 3 way temporary traffic signals will be in operation between 7am and 7pm from Friday 4 April 2017 for a period of approximately 4 months. The lights will be manually controlled at peak times between 7am and 9:30am and between 3:30pm and 6pm daily.

A 40mph temporary speed restriction is in place at Stonehaven for the safe use of multiple AWPR site accesses alongside existing road users. This is expected to be in place for the duration of the project’s construction works.

B979 (West of junction with A90 northbound slip roads)

U89K Aquhorthies-Ury Road

Plant crossing controlled by movement activated traffic signal system in operation.

The project results in the permanent closure of this road to vehicular traffic, with an underpass providing continuity of passage for non-motorised users. Vehicular traffic will be able to access the U88K by means of a new link road to be constructed east of the main carriageway of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route. The date for permanent closure of this road will be advised when confirmed. New link road is now in operation from 27 October 17.
