Three week closure of A725 Diamond Interchange overbridge, James Street, Bellshill

The A725 Diamond Interchange overbridge at James Street, Bellshill, will be closed from 10pm on Sunday 6 June for approximately three weeks.

As a result, James Street, Bellshill overbridge will be closed in both directions to traffic, pedestrians and cyclists between the roundabouts at the A725 southbound off-slip and the A725 northbound off-slip at Diamond Interchange. This is to allow waterproofing and re-surfacing works to be undertaken safely on the bridge over the A725 carriageway.

The A725 north and southbound off and on-slips at the junction will remain open to traffic. Signed diversions will be in place including a separate diversion for pedestrians and cyclists.

In order to facilitate this closure, the A725 north and southbound carriageways between Bellziehill Junction and Shawhead Junction (North Road) will be reduced to a single lane for one night from 10pm to 6am, on Sunday 6 June.

Scottish Roads Partnership will undertake works between the hours of 7am and 7pm, seven days a week, to complete the waterproofing as quickly as possible. However, the closure will be in place 24/7 for the duration of the works.

All works are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
