There will be two overnight carriageway closures on the M8 eastbound Junction 8 Baillieston off-slip road for A8/A89 Coatbridge Road, and A8 westbound/A89 eastbound carriageway approaches to and from Bargeddie Roundabout to allow white lining maintenance works to take place.
The closures are scheduled on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 April 2021, from 8pm to 6am each night, at the following locations:
- M8 eastbound Junction 8 Baillieston off-slip road to the A8/A89 Coatbridge Road
- A8 westbound carriageway between Bargeddie Junction (Showcase) and Bargeddie Roundabout (A8 Coatbridge Road)
As a result, the A8 eastbound and westbound carriageway approaches to Bargeddie Roundabout will be reduced to a single lane and there will be no access to the A89 eastbound carriageway from the Bargeddie Roundabout.
Signed diversions will be in place and road users should allow extra time for journeys. Local access will be maintained on the A89 eastbound carriageway.
These closures have been scheduled overnight to minimise disruption to traffic and are required to ensure road user and road worker safety whilst we undertake essential white lining works.
All schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if conditions are poor.
This work will be carried out by Scottish Road Partnership (SRP) on behalf of Transport Scotland.
Find real-time journey information on the Traffic Scotland website and Traffic Scotland Twitter.
