This role will sit within the Procurement Team in the Major Projects Directorate. The Directorate is responsible for the delivery of a number of major roads projects, the majority of which are high value/high risk, as well as the provision of procurement advice across the agency.

Procurement is not undertaken by a central procurement department in Transport Scotland, but is instead carried out in a decentralised manner by staff with appropriate skills and expertise who are members of project teams. Therefore, the Procurement Team in the Major Projects Directorate has an essential role to play in supporting sustainable procurement across all of Transport Scotland’s operational and policy areas. The Procurement Team provides advice, training and support to project teams throughout all nine Transport Scotland Directorates, as well as ensuring that the agency’s procurement policies and procedures are in line with Scottish Government policy and relevant legislation.,
