A75 Springholm and Crocketford
Local residents and road users are being invited to view and have their say on early options for bypasses for the villages of Springholm and Crocketford on the A75 in Dumfries and Galloway as initial design and assessment work progresses.
The route options being developed are set to go on display at public exhibitions in Crocketford and Springholm later this month.
Cabinet Secretary for Transport Fiona Hyslop said:
“We are committed to improving safety, resilience and reliability for everyone who uses the A75, including freight operators. The initial design work looking at options to bypass the villages of Springholm and Crocketford on the A75 is now well underway.
“Springholm and Crocketford are the only two settlements on the busy route which have not yet been bypassed and we are pleased to be taking this work forward to improve the lives of people living, visiting and working in the villages.
“The public engagement events later this month are an opportunity for locals and road users to view and comment on the early emerging options which have been developed. I would encourage anyone with an interest in this project to come along to one of the events or view the material online and share their feedback to help shape our plans.
“The work being undertaken will culminate with a preferred route option for bypassing Springholm and Crocketford, expected to be identified in early 2027.”
