A82 tree surveys starting next week
The survey works will start on Tuesday 26 September and are a key part of the design and assessment work for the scheme to upgrade this section of the A82, and follow initial tree surveys that were undertaken earlier this year.
Although most of the work will not be carried out on the existing road, traffic management measures will be in place to allow work beside the carriageway to be carried out safely.
The traffic management arrangements will include single lane restrictions using stop-go boards.
A Transport Scotland spokesman said:
“The Scottish Government remains committed to delivering the important upgrade of the A82 between Tarbet and Inverarnan, having announced earlier this year that the design of the preferred option for the scheme will be taken forward as a 7.3 m wide carriageway.
“These surveys will help inform the ongoing design work for this scheme.
“When complete, the upgraded road will bring significant improvements for road users and local communities who rely on this road which connects the Highland and Islands with the central belt.”
Transport Scotland apologises for any inconvenience these works may cause and would thank road users and local communities in advance for their patience over the duration of the works
