A9 dualling - traffic management changes - reminder

Road users are advised that a contraflow will come into effect on the A9 northbound carriageway, north of Inveralmond Roundabout, from Thursday August 29, 2019 as part of the A9 Dualling: Luncarty to Pass of Birnam project.

The existing traffic management restrictions will be extended by approximately 1 km at the south end of the project on approach to the works, where northbound A9 traffic will be reduced to a single lane, and guided through a cross-over and into a contraflow arrangement over a short section of the dual carriageway.

This change to the traffic management is required to allow the new carriageway which is currently under construction, to be tied into the existing dual carriageway. It is anticipated that this traffic management will remain in place until completion of the project in Spring 2021.

Temporary traffic lights will be in operation on the A9 overnight on Wednesday 28th August from 8:30 PM to 6 AM to install the contraflow. These works are weather dependent.
