A9 overnight traffic signals between Luncarty and Dunkeld

Further to our travel bulletin of May 2019 advising of overnight traffic signals on the A9 throughout summer, we are now nearing completion of this phase of works.

We thank drivers for their patience during this time and ask that drivers to take care between Luncarty and the Pass of Birnam through these overnight restrictions which are planned to be completed by the first weekend in August.

We wish to bring to drivers’ attention the following upcoming overnight restrictions:

Traffic signals will be in place overnight on July 27 from 8:30 PM until 6:00 AM the following morning. These works are required to facilitate BT utility diversions and also involve a lane closure on a short section of the northbound dual carriageway at the northern extent of our work site.

The beams for the side spans for the Stanley/Tullybelton overbridge will be installed overnight (weather permitting and subject to the successful installation of the main span beams during the planned overnight closures) under two-way temporary traffic lights on August 1, 2019 (8:30 PM to 6:00 AM). Traffic may be stopped in both directions for up to 15 minutes at a time whilst our contractor lifts the five remaining beams into place. Once each beam is safely secured, traffic will be released.

The final night of overnight traffic signals for this phase of works is planned for August 2, 2019 (8:30 PM to 6:00 AM) weather permitting.

Please plan your journey and allow additional time where necessary.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank road users for their patience during this phase of the works and apologise for any disruption experienced.

Road users are advised to check the Traffic Scotland website for the latest traffic information.
