A9 SPEED CAMERAS GO LIVE (UPDATED)

Average speed cameras come in to force on the A9 today (28 October) as part of a package of measures to improve safety and save lives as a result.

At the same time, in a move that has been welcomed by the freight industry and driver organisations alike, the 50 mph HGV speed limit trial gets underway in a bid to reduce driver frustration.

Representatives from the A9 Safety Group will be available and media are invited to muster at Blackford.

Photo-opportunities and interviews will be available. Please note that all bids for interviews with the Minister should be directed to Sarah O’Loughlin 0141-272-7195, or 07920 477564
