A90 overnight closure July 24 – July 25
Diversion routes will be available through Rosyth using Milne Road, Castle Road and A985 Admiralty Road. Diversion signs will be in place to guide road users along the route.
The closure is necessary for safe removal of the existing gantry over the A90 in this area and to allow the planned road upgrade works to be taken forward to the next stage.
At the same time road markings on this stretch will be altered to be suitable for the next phases of traffic management to be applied over this section of the A90.
In addition, the speed limit on the A90 will be reduced to 40 mph from south of the Forth Road Bridge to Admiralty Junction to ensure the safety of construction operations.
Equipment for the average speed camera system to enforce this temporary limit will be installed this weekend, the cameras will remain under test for a short period prior to going live.
The works are part of the major upgrade to the road network in Fife as part of the Forth Replacement Crossing project.
Anyone intending to travel on the A90 during this time should therefore allow extra time for their journey, particularly if they are going to or from Edinburgh Airport.
The Forth Road Bridge is unaffected by the works and will fully remain open.
