AWPR, temporary road closures for U63K Maryculter Road
The contractor for the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route/Balmedie to Tipperty (AWPR/B-T) project is expecting to close the U63K Maryculter Road, between the C5K at Burnhead and Dalfogart Lodge, for the next two weekends for resurfacing works.
The road will close just after midnight at 00:01 hours on Saturday 10 November and will reopen by 23:59 hours on Sunday 11 November. The road will close again just after midnight at 00:01 hours on Saturday 17 November and will reopen by 23.59 on Sunday 18 November.
Diversions will be sign-posted. Drivers intending to travel east of the closure should use the U63K Maryculter Road, the B9077 South Deeside Road, C30K Hillside to Batchart Road and C5K Lochton to Auchlunies to Nigg Road. The reverse journey is required for those wishing to travel west of the closure.
A Transport Scotland spokesperson said:
“We would like to encourage those drivers who would consider using this route to plan their journey in advance and allow themselves additional travelling time so that they can reach their destination safely and on time.
“We also ask road users to observe all signage and to drive carefully while these works are on-going to ensure their safety, the safety of other road users and of road safety workers.
"We thank road users and the local community in advance for their patience during this period."
These works are weather dependent and therefore may be subject to change at short notice.
