Chief Executive Officer of Scottish Rail Holdings to leave post

The current CEO of Scottish Rail Holdings, Chris Gibb, will leave his post when his fixed term contract comes to an end on 31 March 2023.

Chris Gibb’s last working day will be 29th December due to outstanding annual leave. Current Chief Financial Officer, David Lowrie, has been appointed to take on the role as Chief Executive until the post is filled on a permanent basis.

Transport Minister Jenny Gilruth said:

“Chris Gibb has brought a wealth of rail experience from previous senior positions, and a lifelong rail industry career. I am thankful for the fundamental role that he has played in the delivery of ScotRail into public sector ownership.

“I wish Chris well for the future.

“I would like to thank David Lowrie for stepping into the role of Chief Executive while the recruitment for a permanent Chief Executive takes place.”
