Further A9 Dualling contract awarded

Ground investigations are due to start later this month on the section of the A9 between Crubenmore and Kincraig.

Fugro Geoservices Ltd have been awarded the contract totalling over £2.7 million for the 10 mile stretch of the route.

Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Connectivity, Michael Matheson said:

“Our work to deliver the ambitious A9 Dualling programme is ongoing with design work continuing and advance works underway on the Luncarty to Pass of Birnam scheme with construction to start in the next few months.

“Having published the draft Orders for the Crubenmore to Kincraig scheme, we are taking forward plans for ground investigations for the same scheme to help inform the ongoing design work.

“These vital investigations are due to start later this month, with the work expected to last around 12 weeks.”

A Transport Scotland spokesperson said:

“As some of this work will take place on or near the live carriageway and in order to ensure the safety of both road workers and road users we will need to introduce traffic management arrangements when required.

“Road users and local communities will be kept informed of our plans and we will endeavour to ensure that any disruption is kept to a minimum.”
