Information for motorists – Essential work to start on M74 at Polmadie

The restrictions will allow contractor, Interlink M74 JV, to carry out necessary work, immediately south of Junction 1A at Polmadie.

A minimum of two lanes of traffic will be maintained in both directions for the duration of the work, with 3 lanes available on the northbound carriageway on weekdays. The southbound on-ramp will be closed during this work with diversions signposted towards Junction 2, Cambuslang Road.

A representative for the contractor, Interlink M74 JV, said:

“We are working with Transport Scotland to endeavour to minimise the delays to the travelling public whilst we carry out these essential remedial works.”

Interlink M74 JV, as contractor will be responsible for the cost of the work.

Road users are encouraged to visit Traffic Scotland in advance of their journey to get the latest information on the traffic management arrangements including the ongoing works at the Raith Junction and surrounding areas as part of the M8 M73 M74 Motorway Improvements Project.
