Road Safety Framework Fund open for applications

A £750,000 fund to support innovative road safety projects in Scotland is now open for applications.

The Road Safety Framework Fund will back schemes aimed at saving lives on our roads and help us reach our goal of making Scotland’s roads the safest in the world by 2030.

The fund is open until Monday 4 May 2026 and welcomes applications from public sector bodies, professional associations, registered charities, and university departments based in Scotland. Over the years, it has provided support to a wide range of projects for senior drivers, motorcyclists, young drivers and those who drive for work.

Cabinet Secretary for Transport Fiona Hyslop said:

Road safety remains a top priority for the Scottish Government and this Fund will support organisations with ideas that can make a real difference when it comes to saving lives.

We want applications that are ambitious and innovative to help us keep moving towards our long‑term vision of eliminating serious injuries and fatalities on our roads.

I have long stressed the importance of partnership working in the road safety sector, so I’m encouraging all organisations to consider applying to this Fund to help bring forward plans that will save lives and ensure a safer Scotland for all.
