Transport Minister on meeting with Aberdeen City Council

Speaking ahead of a meeting with Aberdeen City Council tomorrow (Tues May 6) on the Haudagain roundabout, Transport Minister Keith Brown said:

“I want to underline the Scottish Government’s commitment to taking forward the improvement programme at the Haudagain roundabout. We have already committed £3 million to the preparatory work and look forward to getting on with the project when the AWPR is completed.

“This meeting will give me the opportunity to speak to councillors directly about the scheme and address any issues that they have in connection with it. The process that we are following with Haudagain is no different to how we deliver, and have been delivering, other major new road schemes across the country, on time and on budget.

“The Middlefield Regeneration Group told me at a recent meeting that it would be in the interests of road users, communities and businesses for the Council to agree to move forward with their Middlefield Regeneration project hand in hand with us on Haudagain and I believe that is what we have to do.

“We need to agree an approach that will let us take both of these projects forward in a co-ordinated and efficient manner, giving the people of Middlefield the joined-up services they rightly expect.”
