Upcoming A9 restrictions - Luncarty to Pass of Birnam

A9 road users are advised to drive with care on approach to the Luncarty to Pass of Birnam section as traffic restrictions come into force from Monday 22 October, for approximately nine weeks.

The traffic management measures that are expected include occasional lane closures, speed restrictions and traffic signals. These are required to ensure the safety of road users and workers, while site clearance work continues along the route of the A9 Dualling: Luncarty to Pass of Birnam.

Traffic restrictions will be in place during off-peak hours between 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM Monday to Thursday, and 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM on Friday, with a 40mph speed restriction in place on approach, reducing to 30mph through work areas.

Delays are expected and will be monitored and road users are advised to plan ahead and allow additional time for their journey.

A spokesperson for Transport Scotland said:

"We will work closely with the contractor to minimise any disruption to traffic and would like to thank road users in advance for their patience."

Road users are advised to check the Traffic Scotland website for live updates on the traffic management measures in place for the duration of the works.
