Transport resilience team a winner for Beast from the East

The team that battled to keep Scotland's roads moving during the 2018 Beast from the East weather event has been recognised at the Scottish Transport Awards.

Transport Scotland and our Road Operating Companies Amey, Scotland Transerv and BEAR Scotland won Transport Team/ Partnership of the Year for our successful weather resilience operation.

Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Connectivity Michael Matheson welcomed 450 industry professionals to the awards ceremony, which celebrated the people that make a real difference to transport across Scotland.

Michael Matheson said:

"It was an honour to attend this evening’s awards and to help recognise some of the often unsung heroes in the transport sector.

"It’s been a tremendous year and it was inspiring to meet so many of those responsible for that success.

"There is of course still much work to do and I look forward to working with our transport partners in the months ahead as we strive towards further enhancing our transport network and building on the progress to date."

Now in its 17th year, the prestigious Scottish Transport Awards recognise excellence, innovation and progress across all areas of transport.
