Secondary schools get smart ticketing in Argyll & Bute

On 17 August 16 Argyll & Bute Council has, with the support of Transport Scotland and bus operator West Coast Motors, rolled out smart ticketing to all secondary schools where transport is provided by West Coast Motors across the region.

This extended service now enables almost 470 children entitled to free school travel to use their Young Scot saltirecard, pre-loaded with their school travel ticket, to tap on and off bus during school hours.

The new service has eased the administrative burden and use of schools travel for pupils, local authority and bus operator.
