A9 Crubenmore dual carriageway Northern extension

The new dualled section, which opened to traffic on Monday 26 September 2011, cost £10.4 million to build.

It has improved road safety and journey times and, by nearly doubling the length of dual carriageway, it has improved access to and from Inverness and the Highlands.

The completed scheme, along with other work on the A9, reinforces the Scottish Government's commitment to the route - an economic lifeline connecting communities and businesses in the Highlands and Far North with Central Scotland and the South.
