A9 Portgower Mill Bridge replacement

The old A9 Portgower Mill Bridge was at risk from future storm water flows. The twin pipe culvert was unable to carry predicted design flows without the risk of damage to both the bridge and the embankments. The twin pipe culvert under the old masonry arch bridge was replaced by a new single span bridge.

The bridge works were completed on 7 March 2014.

The environmental impact of the works was minimised. Control measures were put in place to protect the local environment. Environmental scoping was completed.
