Dundee Station redevelopment

Work started in 2014 to construct a five storey station concourse and hotel.

The £38 million project provides:

  • A new triple-height passenger concourse
  • Ticketing facilities
  • Passenger information
  • 2 escalators and lift
  • A Retail Unit and 2-storey café
  • A 120 bedroom hotel.

Dundee Station redevelopment

The new station concourse occupies the site of the existing concourse which is a 1960s extension to the original Victorian station buildings.

The building was carefully designed to create an impressive new landmark within the Central Waterfront development to be an attractive new gateway into the city for rail passengers.

A 40 space car park, including electric vehicle charging points, has been provided at the rear of the station.

Drop off/pick up provision has also been provided in the area.

The redevelopment project was completed and station reopened on 09 July 2018 in advance of the 2018 Open Golf Championship at Carnoustie and the opening of the adjacent Victoria & Albert Museum on 15 September 2018. Both are significant tourist attractions for the area.

Further details about the project can be found on the Dundee Waterfront project website.
