The Waverley Steps provide covered access to Edinburgh's Waverley Station.
New escalators, lifts and stairs give travellers a quick and accessible route to platforms and into the heart of the city.
Around 14,000 passengers use the Princes Street entrance each day and the Steps creates crucial station access under the shelter of weather-proof glass.
Buggies, bikes, wheelchairs, mobility scooters and those with heavy luggage have use of the 16-person lifts.
Other passengers also benefit from the well-lit, covered step and escalator access between Princes Street and the north entrance to Waverley station.
