DfT consultation – Accessible information

The UK Government recently consulted on ways to improve information for bus passengers through the Bus Services Act 2017 and accessible information regulations. This included looking to introduce regulations that will require bus operators across the UK to provide audible and visible information on local bus services to help people identify:

  • the route and direction of services
  • each upcoming stop
  • points at which diversions start or end

Michael Matheson, Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Connectivity has responded to the consultation on behalf of the Scottish Government.
