Assessments of the environmental effects

The A1 South of Dolphingstone Northbound scheme lies within 2km of the Firth of Forth SPA and Ramsar Site and the Outer Firth of Forth and St Andrews Bay Complex SPA and within the buffer zone of the qualifying feature of Fala Flow SPA and Ramsar Site and Gladhouse Reservoir SPA and Ramsar Site and as such, a HRA was undertaken. The HRA ruled out LSE on the designated sites and as such an Appropriate Assessment is not required.

As detailed in the Description of Main Environmental Impacts and Proposed Mitigation section, there are no significant effects anticipated on any environmental receptors as a result of the proposed works.
