Assessments of the environmental effects
The A6091 Galafoot Bridge scheme lies spans the River Tweed SAC and as such the potential for Likely Significant Effects have been considered within a Habitat Regulations Appraisal (HRA). The HRA has concluded that the works could result in LSE on some of the qualifying species of the European Sites, and as such an Appropriate Assessment (AA) was carried out. The AA concluded that provided mitigation measures were implemented on site the works would not result in adverse effects on site integrity (AESI) to the River Tweed SAC.
As detailed in the Description of Main Environmental Impacts and Proposed Mitigation section, there are no significant effects anticipated on any environmental receptors as a result of the proposed works.
