Assessment cumulative effects

The proposed works are not anticipated to result in significant environmental effects. Due to the nature of the proposed works, no cumulative effects are anticipated with any other developments in the vicinity.

A search of the Scottish Road Works Commissioner’s website (map search) has identified that no other road works are currently ongoing, or noted as being planned, on the A68 trunk road or surrounding roads in proximity to the scheme during the A68 Carters Bar Bends scheme.

In addition, a search using Scottish Boarders Council 'Simple Search' identified no planning applications within 300m of the scheme extents within the last two years.

Given the minor nature of the BEAR Scotland resurfacing works, no in-combination effects are expected.
