Assessments of the environmental effects

The A720 Straiton to Lothianburn Westbound scheme lies within the buffer zone of several qualifying species of the Firth of Forth SPA and Ramsar Site, Outer Firth of Forth and St Andrews Bay Complex SPA, Gladhouse Reservoir SPA and Ramsar Site, Fala Flow SPA and Ramsar Site and Westwater SPA and Ramsar Site and as such, a HRA has been undertaken. The HRA ruled out the potential for LSE on the designated sites.

As detailed in the Description of Main Environmental Impacts and Proposed Mitigation section, there are no significant effects anticipated on any environmental receptors as a result of the proposed works.
