Description
BEAR Scotland has been commissioned by Transport Scotland to carry out resurfacing and structural maintenance on a section of the A82 trunk road, north of Inverarnan, with a length of 500m and area of 0.36ha. Carriageway resurfacing and structural inlays will involve milling out and replacement of bituminous material. Works have been identified from surface and structural deterioration and works are proposed to address these issues. The works will include:
- Set up Traffic Management (TM); road closure with hourly amnesties
- Mill out old surface course
- Lay new surface course
- Roll surface and allow it to set
- Install road markings and studs
- Remove TM and open road
The works are scheduled for delivery within the 2026/27 financial year. The scheme is currently set to commence on 07/09/2026 for a duration of six nights, between the hours of 19:00 – 06:00. However, changes to the programme may result in revised start dates or working hours.
TM will consist of a full road closure during overnight working hours with hourly amnesties. No site compound is required as access will be gained through TM. Should the programme be revised, the TM arrangements may also be subject to change.

The scheme is located on the A82 north of Inverarnan (south of where the Dubh Eas watercourse intercepts the A82), within the Stirling Council region, between the National Grid References (NGR): Start: NN 31908 19266, End: NN 31955 19770.
