Vulnerability of the project to risks

For the existing culverts, flows which exceed the residual culvert capacity overtop the A85 and flow over and along the carriageway posing a hazard to traffic. The replacement culverts will reduce flood risk on the A85 during the operational phase.

Road collision risk has been considered, and traffic management is anticipated to comprise a northbound lane closure with temporary traffic lights to reduce this risk.

A SEMP has been produced by BEAR Scotland which sets out a framework to reduce the risk of adverse impacts from construction activities on sensitive environmental receptors. The contractor will comply with all conditions of the SEMP during works and may be subject to audit throughout the contract.

The vulnerability of the project to risks of major accidents and disasters is considered to be low.
