‘Officials to prepare further analysis of regional data, coach travel and travel demand behaviours to be shared with Board members.’ The NTS regional analysis paper was shared with members by correspondence for noting. Action closed.

‘Transport Scotland officials to develop a one-page document highlighting ongoing positive work following the publication of the Transport to Health Delivery Plan, including examples listed in the paper shared with the Board for noting in the Hitrans and Nestrans areas, as well as additions from the Tactran area, to be shared with the Cabinet Secretary for Health & Social Care and the Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Local Government.’ A paper summarising progress on the Transport to Health workstream will be shared with Cabinet Secretary for Health & Social Care and the Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Local Government in due course. Action closed.

‘Cabinet Secretary for Transport to visit areas in which good examples of Transport to Health work is taking place.’ Cabinet Secretary has undertaken a number of engagements since the last Board meeting including some that have included a transport to health element. This includes a recent visit to the Connecting Yorkhill and Kelvingrove Active Travel Infrastructure project. This will improve links from the city centre to Yorkhill hospital. TS officials also sought suggestions from the NTS officers group on any potential visits to those examples set out in the paper which was shared with Board members in July. Action closed.

‘Transport Scotland officials to facilitate closer engagement with Scottish Government Health & Social Care colleagues and Board members regarding transport to health to consider options for improvements.’ SG Primary Care team attended a recent RTP meeting and presented on the Transport to Health Delivery Plan. The Primary Care team has a new full time resource in place and they will soon focus on Transport to Health. Transport Scotland is also strengthening the strategic engagement team in the coming months. A meeting was held with NHS Scotland Assure on Tuesday 18 November to discuss the service renewal framework and staff travel matters. A strategic meeting between Transport Scotland and Primary Care officials was held on 2 December. Action closed.

‘Board members to raise the profile of the Value of Transport report by presenting it to their respective networks and forums.’ The Value of Transport was one of the central themes of the Scottish Transport Summit where its profile was raised to senior delegates from across the sector. It was also presented and discussed at the recent NTS Business Group. Action closed.
