Police Management Information Data

An update was provided by Police Scotland on the latest management information data, noting that the analytical data will continue to be monitored.

CT asked if Transport Scotland can align the road traffic fatality figures with the road traffic kilometres estimates, to understand if increased car kilometres has a detrimental impact on casualty numbers.

Action: TS statistics to compare road traffic fatality numbers with car kilometres to understand if there is a correlation between the two, and if increased car kilometres has a detrimental impact on casualty numbers.

SB raised a query regarding how road fatalities are categorised, and asked for clarification on the criteria used to determine how a road death is classed (e.g. medical / suicide / other).

Action: Police Scotland to share the methodology / process of categorising road deaths with SB (PHS).
