Road Casualty Reduction: Progress Toward Framework Targets

31. Figure 1 below shows that the number of people reported killed in 2011 was 186, which is 36 per cent below 2004-08 average level. The 2015 milestone target of 30% has therefore been passed.

32. Figure 2 below shows that 1,875 people were seriously injured in 2011, which is 28 per cent below the 2004-08 average level.

33. Figure 3 below shows the number of reported child fatalities. On average 5 children were killed annually between 2009 and 2011: 65 per cent below the 2004-08 average, the 2020 target of 50% having been passed.

34. Figure 4 shows serious child casualties since 2006. 203 children were seriously injured in 2011; this is 38 per cent below the 2004-08 average, and well on the way to achieving the 2015 milestone target of a 50% reduction.
