This table can be used to establish the percentage of employed adults resident in a given council area that work in that and other council areas.

For example, the percentage of employed adults living in Fife who work in Edinburgh can be found by locating the horizontal row labelled Fife under Council area of residence and looking across to the figure appearing in the vertical column labelled Edinburgh. In this case 9% of those who live in Fife work in Edinburgh.

Note: In last year's publication a significant number of workplaces were incorrectly coded as 'not known'. This has been corrected, resulting in a seeming drop in the percentage of those working in workplace 'not known'.
