Update from Audit and Risk Committee
AI provided a summary of the recent Audit and Risk Committee meeting.
Risk
- AP gave a brief update on the Corporate Risk Register.
- Five risk deep dives are scheduled for October.
Correspondence
- AP reported that the FOI Unit is conducting spot checks to ensure compliance with procedures.
- A few late FOI cases were noted; Directors are asked to monitor their Directorate’s performance.
- AI expressed thanks to the Roads Directorate for timely FOI responses.
- Going forward, FOI allocations will be managed by SG.
Communications
- DC reported good feedback from the summer programme for the Cabinet Secretary and Minister for Transport.
- Upcoming priorities include: Rail debate in September, Peak Fares and Borders anniversary.
- FB to liaise with DC regarding the Transport Summit.
- DC to present a comparison of the comms grid and performance dashboard at the October Corporate meeting.
- Winter launch will feature a broader modal presentation (Scotrail, Ferries, Roads).
Finance
GS provided an update on the month end position.. Risk areas are being highlighted to the Cab Sec in capital savings.
There has been an update to the process for Action Officer Templates (AOT) and these have been circulated round TS.
BS suggested a deeper discussion on AOTs and planning for 2026 (including elections).
AI advised this could be addressed at an SMT development day.
HR Update
JD provided a short presentation which highlighted some important factors for SMT to discuss and continue to monitor over the next few months. The SMT thanked JD for her informative presentation. Directors were reminded that the People Survey opens on 23 September.
Any Other Business
AI reminded Directors of mandatory attendance at the SCS Event on Monday.
