10. Travel between council areas

10.1 Most journeys begin and end in the same council area. Even in the council area where journeys were most likely to end in another authority (South Lanarkshire), such journeys accounted for less than a third of the total. Journeys starting in Highlands & Islands and Grampian were most likely to end in the same authority (both 95%). [Table 13]

10.2 Updates to tables 15 and 16 from previous publications showing travel to work between council areas will be available on the website in December once the data is available from the contractors.
