Summary
Transport Scotland is committed to delivering our vision for a well-adapted transport system in Scotland and will continue to take steps to embed adaptation and resilience across our organisation.
This TRAP provides a framework for adapting the TRN to climate change across three themes defined in Transport Scotland’s ACCAR Vision for a safe, reliable, and resilient transport system.
Through the TRAP, the following has been delivered:
- Key climate risks informed by up-to-date climate science (UKCP18) and robust risk assessment.
- Identification of 24 adaptation recommendations, across three action themes that address the key climate risks and step toward a safe, reliable and resilient transport system.
- An additional 21 adaptation recommendations, across three enabling themes, that integrate and promote adaptation approaches within Transport Scotland and with our valued partners.
- Consideration of Net Zero ambitions, enhancing nature and no-regret options.
- Provision of a recommended adaptation monitoring framework.
- Tools for developing Dynamic Adaptive Pathways Policies (DAPP) to be taken forward at key vulnerable locations.
