The A68 Trunk Road (Cranstoun Church) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road) Order 2023

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under
sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will have the effect of temporarily prohibiting traffic on that length of the A68 Edinburgh – Carter Bar Trunk Road, from the A6106 Fordel Junction merge south to the B6372 Oxenfoord Junction, a total distance of 1.9 kilometres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to allow the laying of wreaths at the memorial at the Cranstoun Church Remembrance Sunday Event 2023, and to enable members of the public to watch this event, will be in operation from 12th November until 13th November 2023. It is anticipated that the restrictions will be in place for 5-10 minutes between 11:00 and 13:00 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the lengths of road as are indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes or a vehicle being used for facilitating the holding of the relevant event.
