The A68 Trunk Road (Edinburgh Road, Jedburgh) (Temporary Prohibition on Waiting and 30mph Speed Restriction) (No. 2) Order 2017
The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(a).
The effect of the Order is to:
- Prohibit waiting on that length of the A68 Edinburgh – Carter Bar Trunk Road, Edinburgh Road, Jedburgh, from the junction of the A68 and the entrance to Bankhead North Industrial Estate, northwards, to a point 753 metres north of that point, at the junction of the A68 and the entrance to the sewerage works, a total distance of 753 metres or thereby
- Impose a 30mph speed restriction on that length of the A68 Edinburgh – Carter Bar Trunk Road, Edinburgh Road, Jedburgh, from a point 117 metres north of the junction of the A68 and the entrance to Bankhead North Industrial Estate, northwards, to a point 636 metres north of that point, at the junction of the A68 and the entrance to the sewerage works, a total distance of 636 metres or thereby.
The Order, which is required to allow safe and unobstructed access of the A68 adjacent to Riverside Park, during the Riverside Rock Event will be in force from 17th of June 2016 until 18th of June 2017 but will only have effect in relation to such length(s) of road as are indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for the fire brigade, coastguard , ambulance or police purposes or acts done with the permission or upon the direction of a police constable in uniform.
Alternative routes for traffic in relation to the lengths of road affected by the Order during the prohibition will be as sign posted. Detailed descriptions can be obtained at Amey Highways, 6a Dryden Road, Bilston Glen Industrial Estate Loanhead, Midlothian, EH20 9TY.
