The A68 Trunk Road (Edinburgh Road, Jedburgh) (Temporary Prohibition on Waiting and 30mph Speed Restriction) Order 2018

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order, under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of the Order is to restrict speed and prohibit waiting on the following lengths of road :

1. That length of the A68 Edinburgh – Carter Bar Trunk Road, at Edinburgh Road, Jedburgh, from a point 390 metres north of the junction of the A68 and Headrig Road (entrance to Jedburgh Camping and Caravanning Club Site at Elliot Park), northwards, to a point 753 metres north of that point, at the junction of the A68 and the entrance to the sewerage works, a total distance of 753 metres or thereby.

2. That length of the A68 Edinburgh – Carter Bar Trunk Road, at Edinburgh Road, Jedburgh, from a point 540 metres north of the junction of the A68 and Headrig Road (entrance to Jedburgh Camping and Caravanning Club Site at Elliot Park), northwards, to a point 636 metres north of that point, at the junction of the A68 and the entrance to the sewerage works, a total distance of 636 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to allow safe and unobstructed access of the A68 adjacent to Riverside Park, during the Jedforest Rugby Sevens Event will be in force from 19th May 2018 until 20th May 2018 but will only have effect in relation to such length(s) of road as are indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes or to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.
