The A68 Trunk Road (Pathhead) (20mph and 30mph Speed Limit) Order 2026

The Scottish Ministers hereby give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 84(1)(a) and 124(1)(d) of, and paragraph 27 of schedule 9 of, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order is as described in the Midlothian Advertiser, dated 27 November 2025 and the Edinburgh Gazette Issue Number 29202, dated 28 November 2025. The Order comes into force on Saturday 28 March 2026.

A copy of the Order as made and the relevant plan may be inspected free of charge until 3 May 2026 at the offices of Transport Scotland, Fifth Floor, 177 Bothwell Street, Glasgow, G2 7ER, Post Office, Day-Today Express, 139 Main Street, Pathhead EH37 5PT and Gorebridge Library, 98 Hunterfield Road, Gorebridge, EH23 4TT.

UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 Compatibility Consideration and Narration of Statement of Compatibility

The Scottish Ministers have made the following statement regarding children’s rights.
“In accordance with section 23(2) of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 (the Act), the Scottish Ministers certify that, in their view, the A78 Trunk Road (Greenock) (Temporary 20mph Speed Restriction) Order 2026 is compatible with the UNCRC requirements as defined by section 1(2) of the Act.”
