Statement of reasons

The Scottish Ministers aim to promote the safe and efficient use of the roads for which they are responsible.

Following concerns from the local community group and the provision of uncontrolled pedestrian crossing facility, the Scottish Ministers are satisfied that the speed limit should be reduced to 40mph in the interests of road safety and will be appropriate for the environment in line with the function and nature of the road.
