The A702 Trunk Road (Biggar) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road) (No. 2) Order 2018

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(a), temporarily prohibiting traffic on that length of the A702 Edinburgh - Abington Trunk Road from its junction with View Park Road, Biggar in a northeasterly direction to its junction with John Street, a distance of  300 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate the Biggar Remembrance Sunday event will be in operation from 11 November 2018 until 12 November 2018. It is anticipated that the restrictions will be in place twice, for approximately 15 minutes, in between the hours of 10.30 and 12.30 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, coastguard, ambulance or police purposes, or vehicles while being used for facilitating the holding of the relevant event.

Alternative Routes

No alternative route required as restriction will only be in operation for a short period of up to 15 minutes.
