The A702 Trunk Road (Biggar) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road) Order 2018

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, temporarily prohibiting traffic on that length of the A702 Edinburgh to Abington Trunk Road from its junction with Gas Works Road, Biggar, north to the entrance to the Biggar Showground, an approximate length of 1.1 kilometres.

The Order, which is required to facilitate the Biggar Farmers Club event will be in operation from the 21st July until the 22nd July 2018 the prohibition will only be in force for a period of around 30 minutes but will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. 

The Order does not apply to vehicles while being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes or vehicles while being used for facilitating the holding of the relevant event.

Alternative routes

Alternative route for traffic during the restrictions is not required.
