The A702 Trunk Road (Biggar) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road) Order 2019

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, temporarily prohibiting traffic on that length of the A702 Edinburgh to Abington Trunk Road from its junction with Station Road, Biggar, north to its junction with the B7016 Brougton Road, a distance of 725 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate the Biggar Little Arts Festival event will be in operation from the 20th October until the 21st October 2019. It is anticipated that the restrictions will be in place, for approximately 15 minutes, between the hours of 15:15 and 15:45 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes, or vehicles while being used for facilitating the holding of the relevant event.
